Diocesan Administration meets with Nanticoke Parish

Diocesan Administration meets with Nanticoke Parish - 03/19/2012

On Monday, March 19, His Grace, Bishop Tikhon, together with Fr. John Kowalczyk, Chancellor, and Fr. Daniel Kovalak, Dean of the Wilkes-Barre Deanery, met with Fr. Adam Sexton, pastor of St John the Baptist Church in Nanticoke, the officers of the Parish Council and other members of the parish.
A brief inspection was made of the interior damage to the rectory caused by the fire of March 4, after which everyone gathered in the Church hall for a meeting. Initial reports from the insurance companies and the structural engineer were heard and a discussion of the coordination of the relief efforts and rebuilding process was held.
Fr. Adam reported that he and his family have moved into temporary housing, provided by a local Roman Catholic Church, whose rectory was vacant.  He also confirmed that his family’s needs and the needs of the parish have been very well met  by the abundant generosity and prayers of those who have responded to this tragedy.
