First Annual "Day of Service"

The Church School of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, Edwardsville PA, had a "Day of Service" on Saturday, December 22, 2012. Beginning at 11AM, part of the group rang the bell for the Salvation Army at Price Chopper in Kingston PA. While they were ringing the bell, the other part of the group met at Repella Hall to wrap gifts and ready cards for shut-ins, as well as prepare the gifts for the church school's adopted Christmas family.  The students were assisted by their teachers, Michael Lukatchik and Shirley Gingo, as well as Church School Alumnus Hanna Lukatchik and members of the St. Stephen's Men Society. This was the first year of bell-ringing, and it proved to be an enjoyable and worthwhile way for the youth to spend their Saturday before Christmas.
