On Thursday evening, December 28, 2023, Saint Mary’s Orthodox Church, Saint Clair opened their doors and welcomed the faithful of different backgrounds. The Saint Clair Historical Society sponsored the Tour of Churches as part of community outreach for those interested in the historical founding of the churches and to learn more about the faiths of the churches. A shuttle bus was provided to transport some of the people and many others came from Schuylkill, Carbon, and Luzerne Counties. Well over 60 people at different times came to Saint Mary’s and attentively listened to presentations on the background of the church and the Orthodox Faith. Many questions were asked and some of the visitors were interested in knowing when services are being held for future visitation.
