Pennsylvania Immigration Resource Center Seeks Translators

The Pennsylvania Immigration Resource Center (PIRC) is a non-profit legal services organization that provides advocacy, and education to vulnerable immigrants in the community and in immigration detention, including asylum-seekers, individuals with mental illness, families in detention, and victims of violence.

PIRC is currently looking for individuals who speak fluent Tigrinya and English to volunteer their time to facilitate attorney/client meetings at the York County Prison in York, PA. A volunteer interpreter makes all the difference, and enables the courageous immigrants we serve with the opportunity to have equal access to justice. With an interpreter's help, the client will be able to tell his/her story to the attorney, so that the attorney can better prepare for his/her case and advocate for them.
