St. Nicholas Hosts Wilkes-Barre Deanery for Mission Service - 04/21/24
On April 21, the 5th Sunday of Great Lent: St. Mary of Egypt, St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Olyphant hosted a mission service for the parishes of the Wilkes Barre Deanery. Joining parish rector Fr. Nathan Clausson in prayer were Father Innocent Neal-rector of Holy Trinity Church in Wilkes Barre, Father Paul Witek-rector of All Saints Church in Olyphant, Fr. Nicholas Solak-rector of Holy Trinity Church in East Stroudsburg and Fr. Jason Franchak-rector of St. Basil Church in Simpson. The choir was directed by Mark Howanetz. A thoughtful, inspiring homily was delivered by Fr. Witek. Following the service, everyone gathered in the parish hall for a lenten meal.
