St. Herman's visited by His Eminence, Archbishop Mark - 04/07/2024

On Sunday, April 7, the Sunday of the Cross, His Eminence Archbishop Mark visited St. Herman of Alaska Orthodox Church in Glen Mills, PA. Serving alongside His Eminence were V. Rev. John Perich, Rector of St. Herman of Alaska Church, and Rev. Joseph Toroney, Attached to St. Herman of Alaska Church. Prior to the Divine Liturgy, Rdr. Nicholas Hojnicki was blessed by His Eminence, Archbishop Mark, to wear the orarion. Rdr. Nicholas has been traveling with Archbishop Mark for the past few weeks and hopefully will continue to do so in the foreseeable future.

During the Divine Liturgy, His Eminence offered a homily about the importance of the cross in the life of a Christian. Following the Liturgy, the Parish Council was installed and recited the Oath of Office. Afterwards, Fr. John presented His Eminence with gifts of a green cassock and the relics of St. Tikhon of Moscow, whose commemoration was celebrated that day. Following the veneration of the cross, a Lenten meal and time of fellowship were held in the church hall.

“Before Thy cross, we bow down in worship, O Master, and Thy holy resurrection, we glorify!”

May God grant and preserve His Eminence Archbishop Mark, the newly installed Parish Council, and the faithful of St. Herman of Alaska Church for Many Years!
