Peter Holoviak, 63, of Sugarloaf Township, PA, passed away after a valiant two year battle with cancer at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville on Tuesday, September 20, 2022. Peter is survived by his wife, Dr. Paula (Duda), and two sons, Vladimir and Alexander residing at home, brother, Paul and wife Dr. Patricia, Berwick, sisters, Carol Bodwalk, and Nancy and husband Dr. William Herman, nephews, James and Norman Eiffler, Nicholas and Josef Bodwak, nieces, Alexandra and Julia Herman, Aunt, Pearl and Nicholas Berezniak and many grand nephews and cousins. Peter is predeceased by his parents, the Reverend Paul and Matushka Catherine Holoviak, and his stepparent, Susan K. Holoviak. Peter was a self employed owner of the Holoviak Church Supply Company which operated over 50 years serving the Eastern Orthodox and Eastern Catholic Churches throughout the US and Canada, and internationally. Peter was a devout Orthodox Christian and a Member of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church serving on the Parish Council and the Outreach Committee. Peter was an accomplished wrestler and martial arts enthusiast and was the former coach at Columbia Montour Vo-Tech wrestling team. In recent years, Peter accompanied by his son, Vladimir, practiced Judo and Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. A Requiem Service will be held on Monday, September 26, 2022 at 11 am in Holy Trinity Orthodox Church 401 E Main St, Wilkes-Barre, officiated by the Reverend Innocent Neal. Friends and family may call for visitation at the Church on Sunday, September 25, 2022, from 4 to 6 pm with Parastas immediately following at 6 pm. Private interment in St Tikhon’s Monastery Cemetery, South Canaan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, Marian Music Boosters, 166 Marian Ave, Tamaqua, PA 18252, or the Jack and Jill Late Stage Cancer Foundation. The family would like to extend its deepest gratitude to the Physicians, Nurses and Staff at Geisinger Cancer Center Hazelton and Danville.
