On Saturday, December 7, St. Stephen's Orthodox Catholic Fellowship, Chapter 82 of the Fellowship of Orthodox Christians in America (F.O.C.A.) hosted the annual Colonial District Religious Day at St. Stephen's Cathedral in Philadelphia. The guest speaker was V. Rev. Daniel Skvir, Chaplain of the Transfiguration Chapel at Princeton University, and Spiritual Advisor to the Princeton University OCF. Fr. Daniel spoke on the topic, "The Orthodox Faith on Campus; A Perspective." Fr. Daniel has been active with the Princeton University OCF since he was a student at Princeton in 1964. He has been the Princeton University OCF Spiritual Advisor for thirty years. He assumed that role after his father in law, the late Fr. John Turkevich, retired. Fr. Daniel related how difficult it is how difficult it is to reach students today. In the most recent incoming Princeton freshman class of 1,250 students, only 20 listed a religious preference on their student information! One of those students currently participates in the OCF.
