Iconography holds theological and spiritual importance in Eastern Orthodox Christian worship.
This exhibit is on loan from St. Tikhon's Museum and Fr. John Perich, curator. The exhibit celebrates the beauty and spirituality of The Holy Icon and Holy Relics common to the Eastern Orthodox Christian Church. The exhibit features icons hand written in the ancient egg tempera style originally developed centuries ago. Many are embellished with silver, gold and precious metals. The collection also includes ecclesiastical items and richly embroidered vestment.
