Berwick celebrates centennial - 10/24/2009
Holy
Annunciation Orthodox Church recently celebrated 100 years of faith in the
Berwick community. After a procession from the church rectory, a
Hierarchical Divine Liturgy with Right Reverend Tikhon celebrating.
Grammatos were presented to four deserving parishioners: Effie Mavrelos,
Jean Husak, Ann K. DeMelfi, and Roy Peckham. A banquet was held
at the Maria Assunta Society. Following remarks by Reverend James
Weremedic (former rector), Very Reverend Daniel Kovalak, Bishop
Tikhon, and Reverend Michael Demko, the
Folk Dance group from Holy Annunciation performed to the delight of
all.
