Archpastoral Visit • Edwardsville, PA - 09/29/24

BATH, PA [DOEPA COMMUNICATIONS]

On Sunday, September 29, The Fourteenth Sunday after Pentecost, His Eminence, Archbishop Mark made an archpastoral visit to St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Edwardsville, PA.

Serving with His Eminence was Archpriest David Hester and servers of the parish.

His Eminence offered the homily, speaking on the gospel reading. He encouraged the faithful to forgive even those who have deeply hurt them, reminding them that true forgiveness is what Christ has called us too. By embracing this, we not only grow spiritually but also grow a deeper relationship with our lord.

Following the dismissal, His Eminence offered words about the closing of Holy Resurrection Cathedral in Wilkes, Barre, PA.

A luncheon, prepared by the parish, was held downstairs following the service.

May God grant His Eminence, The Most Reverend Mark, Archbishop of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania, and the faithful of St. John the Baptist Church many years!

Glory to God for all things!
