BATH, PA [DOEPA COMMUNICATIONS]

On Sunday, September 22, The Thirteenth Sunday after Pentecost, His Eminence, Archbishop Mark made an archpastoral visit to St. Michael's Orthodox Church in Jermyn, PA.

During the Little Entrance, His Eminence awarded Priest John Black, Rector of St. Michael's Church, the right to wear the Gold Cross. Axios! Serving the Divine Liturgy with His Eminence were Priest John Black and Deacon Michael McCartney, attached to Holy Trinity Church in Wilkes-Barre, PA, and the servers of the parish.

His Eminence offered the homily, emphasizing the importance of the Church's sacraments, particularly the need to receive Holy Communion. He explained that accepting the sacraments allows us to strengthen our connection to Christ.

Following the dismissal, His Eminence offered words of encouragement to Priest John and the faithful of St. Michael's. The church school presented His Eminence with a bouqet of flowers in gratitude for his visit.

A meal was held downstairs following the service.

May God grant His Eminence, The Most Reverend Mark, Archbishop of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania, Priest John, Matushka Alexandra and their family, and the faithful of St. Michael's Church many years!

Glory to God for all things!
