Sisters of Mercy visit Harrisburg - 08/04/09
On Tuesday, August 4th two lay Sisters of Mercy (Olga and Elena) from the St. Elizabeth Convent in Minsk, Belarus (www.obitelminsk.by) visited Christ the Saviour. Over 50 members of our local Orthodox community gathered to view a DVD on the ministry of their convent to bring the love and compassion of Christ to the many disadvantaged and vulnerable members of their community. Following the presentation and a lively question and answer session, the sisters offered some items from their monastery for sale, and joined us for some light refreshments offered by our St. Mary's Altar Guild. May God bless the sisters and nuns of St. Elizabeth Convent, and all the members of our local Orthodox community who came to support them for many years!
