Christ the Saviour celebrates the Feast of the Dormition - 08/12/16
On Friday, August 12 2016, the community of Christ the Saviour Orthodox Church in Harrisburg, PA celebrated the feast of the Dormition of the Mother of God. We were blessed (for the first time) to celebrate the burial rite and sing lamentations at the tomb of the Theotokos, "who is constant in prayer, and our firm hope in her intercessions".

In giving birth you preserved your virginity. In falling asleep you did not forsake the world, O Theotokos. You were translated to life, O Mother of Life, and by your prayers, you deliver our souls from death.
