About the DOEPA App

The DOEPA App is a Progressive Web App (PWA), a version of doepa.org designed to function like an app on your phone or tablet. Rather than downloading the app through an app store, users can install it directly from the diocesan website. Once installed, the DOEPA App appears on your device's home screen alongside your other apps, providing convenient access to the Diocese.

Because the app is connected directly to doepa.org, diocesan content and future improvements can be made available without requiring users to download a new version from an app store.

DOWNLOADING INSTRUCTIONS

Please follow the appropriate option below:

     A. Apple:

  1. Open Safari on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Visit doepa.org
  3. Tap the Share button.
  4. Scroll down and select Add to Home Screen.
  5. Tap Add.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR ENABLING NOTIFICATIONS

After installing the DOEPA App, users are encouraged to enable notifications to receive timely updates about the life of the Diocese.

  1. Click or tap the red circle with the white bell in the lower-right corner of the screen. When using a computer, hovering over the bell will display the message, “Click to subscribe to notifications.”
  2. A small window titled “Manage Site Notifications” will appear.
  3. Click or tap the red “SUBSCRIBE” button.
  4. If prompted by your browser or device, select “Allow.”
  5. A confirmation message and/or notification will appear indicating that you have successfully subscribed to notifications.

Users can manage notification permissions at any time through their device settings.

Continued Development

The DOEPA App will continue to grow with the diocesan website. The Diocesan Media Office will continue introducing improvements, refinements, and additional features as we seek to better serve the clergy and faithful of the Diocese of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania.

For questions, comments, feedback, or assistance with the DOEPA App, please contact Reader Nicholas Hojnicki, Director of Communications, at communications@doepa.org
