Additional Volunteers Needed for 2027 Winter Teen Retreat

BATH, PA [DOEPA COMMUNICATIONS]

The Department of Youth Ministries of the Diocese of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone who has already applied to serve as a volunteer counselor or staff member for the 2027 Winter Teen Retreat. Your willingness to offer your time and talents in service to our youth is deeply appreciated. Additional volunteers are still needed, and qualified adults are encouraged to consider joining this important ministry.

The retreat will take place January 29–31, 2027, at Refreshing Mountain Retreat & Adventure Center in Stevens, PA. Centered on the theme “Side-Quest,” the weekend will bring young people together for worship, fellowship, recreation, and spiritual renewal, helping them return to life in their parishes and families with renewed purpose in Christ.

Counselors and staff help create a safe and welcoming Orthodox Christian environment, assist with activities, and serve as mentors throughout the weekend. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, be available for the entire retreat, provide the required references, and fulfill all applicable background-check and clearance requirements.

If you have been considering volunteering, we warmly invite you to apply. Clergy, parishes, and families are also encouraged to share this opportunity with adults who may be interested in serving.
