LOPEZ, PA [DOEPA]
On Sunday, March 1, 2026, the faithful of St. Vladimir's Church in Lopez, PA, gathered to celebrate the Sunday of the Triumph of Orthodoxy.
During the Divine Liturgy, Allen Williams was formally received as a catechumen, beginning his journey of preparation for reception into the Holy Orthodox Church. The parish also officially welcomed Alfred as a catechumen, rejoicing in his commitment to the Orthodox faith and offering prayers for his continued growth in Christ.
In addition, Matthew Williams, son of Allen, was installed as Parish President along with several other members of the newly appointed Parish Council. Following the service, Archpriest Gregory White, Retired, offered prayers and a blessing for the new Church Council as they begin their service to the parish community.
The celebration of the Sunday of Orthodoxy, commemorating the restoration of the holy icons and the victory of the Orthodox faith, was made all the more joyful through these significant moments in the life of the parish. The faithful gave thanks to God for His many blessings and for the continued growth and strengthening of the community in Lopez, PA.
