LOPEZ, PA [DOEPA]
On Sunday, November 2, 2025, the 21st Sunday after Pentecost, His Eminence Archbishop Mark of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania visited St. Vladimir's Church in Lopez, PA, for the celebration of the Divine Liturgy.
Upon arrival, His Eminence was greeted by Archpriest Gregory White, retired, and several members of the parish. Archbishop Mark presided at the Divine Liturgy, concelebrating with Father Gregory. The choir sang under the direction of Matushka Katherine White.
During his homily, His Eminence reflected on the Gospel reading, emphasizing that each person possesses a unique personality created in the image and likeness of God. He reminded the faithful that our differences are gifts meant to work together in harmony within the Body of Christ, strengthening the unity of the Church and deepening our love for one another.
Many of the faithful partook of the Holy Mysteries during the Divine Liturgy.
Following the dismissal, Archbishop Mark presented a Synodal Gramota to Father Gregory and Matushka Katherine in recognition of their many years of faithful service and priestly ministry upon their retirement. May God grant them many years!
His Eminence then offered an archpastoral word to the faithful of St. Vladimir’s Church and the entire community gathered that morning. After the veneration of the Cross, a meal was prepared and served in the church hall, providing a time of fellowship and conversation with His Eminence and among the faithful.
Glory to God for all things!
