Holy Ascension Parish, Frackville, PA begun the Dormition Fast with Vespers and Liturgy for the Feast of the Procession of the Honorable Wood of the Lifegiving Cross of the Lord (Aug 1), the first of the three feast of the Savor in August. Following the Vespers, on Monday evening, we had the Lesser Blessing of Water service, which is traditionally celebrated on this feastday.
May beginning of the Dormition Fast be blessed to all Orthodox Christians who use the New Julian Calendar. May we all be protected by the might of the Precious and Lifegiving Cross, and saved through the prayers of the Most-holy Theotokos.
