St. Herman of Alaska Sends Refugee Relief Supplies - 03/06/2022

On Sunday, March 6, 2022 the parishioners of St. Herman of Alaska Orthodox Church and volunteers worked energetically to pack boxes of badly needed medical equipment, children's medicines  diapers, analgesics, personal hygiene kits, hospice care supplies and many other items for shipment to the thousand of refugees who are pouring into Poland from the ferocious fighting in Ukraine.

Over 25+ boxes were delivered to Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Wilmington, DE, from where they will be sent to NJ then onto NY for shipment to Poland and Ukraine. This shipment included over 3500 band-aids, 1600 diapers, 64 boxes of children Tylenol/Motrin, 1100 packets of Neosporin, 200 combs, 600 bars of soap, 30 boxes of Desitin, 750 feminine products, 350 toothbrushes and toothpaste.

Also a large number of boxes and bags of clothes were packed and brought to Riddle Memorial Hospital where they will be sent directly to Poland and the Ukraine. This is in addition to the many donations of monies that are being collected by our parish, which will be sent to the charitable relief agency of the Orthodox Church of Poland.

We cannot overstate how your outpouring of love and attentiveness to our appeal has been in such a short time.  Please remember that our appeal is ongoing and we will continue to ship and send whatever we receive in order to help the over 1.5 million refugees from the war torn areas who are fleeing to safety.

Monetary Donations SHould be made to the OCA
