Sunday School Students and Teachers Receive Prayers and Blessing Ahead of the 2026-27 Academic Year at the Diocesan Cathedral

PHILADELPHIA, PA [DOEPA]

On Sunday, September 6, 2026, following the celebration of the Divine Liturgy at St. Stephen's Cathedral, the Diocesan Cathedral of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania, the faithful gathered to offer a Molieben for the students and teachers of the parish Sunday School as they begin a new year of Christian education and formation.

Archpriest Victor Gorodenchuk, Cathedral Dean and Dean of the Philadelphia Deanery, offered prayers and blessed the youth and their teachers, asking the Lord to guide them throughout the coming year and grant them wisdom, understanding, and strength as they continue to grow in the knowledge of the Orthodox Faith.

Through its Sunday School program, the Cathedral seeks to assist its young people in deepening their knowledge of the Faith, growing in their relationship with Christ, and becoming more fully rooted in the worship and life of His Holy Church. The parish also gives thanks for the dedication of its teachers and parents, whose faithful support helps nurture the spiritual formation of its children.

The Cathedral community prayerfully commends its students, teachers, and families to the care of God, asking that the coming year be fruitful in faith, learning, fellowship, and love for Christ and His Holy Church.

Glory to God for all things!
