OLYPHANT, PA [DOEPA]

On Sunday, July 19, 2026, following the Divine Liturgy at All Saints Church in Olyphant, PA, Priest Paul Witek, Rector of All Saints Church, and Academic Dean of St. Tikhon's Theological Seminary, blessed the vehicles of the faithful in observance of the Feast of the Holy Prophet Elijah, continuing the parish's annual tradition held near the saint's feast day.

Gathering outside the church following the dismissal, the faithful brought their vehicles to receive the blessing, asking God's protection for all who travel. The annual custom is observed in many Orthodox parishes near the Feast of the Holy Prophet Elijah, who is traditionally regarded as a heavenly protector of travelers and is closely associated with chariots through his fiery ascent into heaven.

As Father Paul offered prayers and sprinkled each vehicle with holy water, the faithful were reminded that every journey should begin with prayer and a trust in God's providence. The blessing also served as an opportunity to give thanks for the Lord's continued protection and to seek His mercy for safe travel throughout the coming year. May the Lord, through the intercessions of the Holy Prophet Elijah, grant safety, protection, and many blessings to all who travel.
