FRACKVILLE, PA [DOEPA]
From July 4-5, 2026, the faithful of Holy Ascension Church in Frackville, PA, rejoiced as the parish welcomed a newly illumined member into the Orthodox Faith and received nine new catechumens who have begun preparing for reception into the Holy Orthodox Church.
On Saturday, July 4, Quentin Jurista, who received the baptismal name Nahum, was formally received into Holy Orthodoxy. The parish community offered prayers of thanksgiving, warmly welcoming Nahum and his family into the life of the Church and asking God's continued blessings upon them. The faithful extended their heartfelt congratulations, praying that the Lord would grant Nahum and his family many blessed years.
On Sunday, July 5, nine individuals were officially received as catechumens prior to the Divine Liturgy, marking the beginning of their formal preparation for entrance into the Orthodox Church. Through a period of prayer, study, worship, and spiritual formation, they will prepare themselves to receive the fullness of the Orthodox Faith.
With the reception of these nine new catechumens, Holy Ascension Church is now blessed to have a total of eighteen catechumens preparing for reception into the Holy Orthodox Church. Their presence is a joyful sign of the continued growth of the parish and a testament to the Lord's work in drawing souls to Himself. The faithful are encouraged to remember them in their prayers, asking the Lord to strengthen them throughout their spiritual journey and, by His grace, bring them to the day when they will be fully united to His Holy Orthodox Church.
Glory to God for all things!
