SOUTH CANAAN, PA [DOEPA]
On Tuesday, June 30, 2026, the Synaxis of the Holy, Glorious and All-Praised Twelve Apostles, the third day of St. Tikhon's Summer Camp was filled with energy and enthusiasm as campers continued to grow in faith and friendship. Throughout the day, campers participated in a variety of activities, games, workshops, and fellowship, making the most of another memorable day at camp.
The day began with Morning Matins served by Priest Paul Witek, Rector of All Saints Church in Olyphant, PA, and Academic Dean of St. Tikhon's Theological Seminary, followed by breakfast before campers gathered for a full schedule of activities across the camp grounds. His Eminence Archbishop Mark presided from the throne. Campers spent the day enjoying sports, games, crafts, and outdoor activities while strengthening friendships under the guidance of the camp staff and counselors.
During the day's workshops and educational sessions, campers reflected on the theme, "Putting Off the Old Man and Putting On the New," exploring what it means to leave behind sinful habits and grow into the new life offered in Christ. Through age-appropriate discussions, activities, and lessons, campers learned how prayer, repentance, kindness, humility, and love for one another help transform their daily lives as Orthodox Christians.
Following lunch and an afternoon of recreational activities, campers gathered for Daily Vespers, offering thanks to God for another joyful day at camp. After the service, campers took part in the evening's featured activity, "Lantern Raid", an exciting team game that brought everyone together for an evening of fun, teamwork, and friendly competition.
As the week continues, St. Tikhon's Summer Camp remains a place where young people grow spiritually, build lasting friendships, and experience the life of the Church in a joyful and supportive community.
