BATH, PA [DOEPA COMMUNICATIONS]

On Monday, June 22, 2026, on behalf of the Clergy, Matushki, and Faithful of the Diocese of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania, the Diocesan Media Office extends its warmest congratulations, heartfelt prayers, and best wishes to our beloved Vladyka, His Eminence Archbishop Mark, on the occasion of his birthday.

As we give thanks to Almighty God for the gift of His Eminence's life and ministry, we offer our sincere gratitude for his devoted service to the Church, his steadfast leadership, and his fatherly care for the faithful entrusted to his archpastoral oversight. Through his guidance, wisdom, and tireless labors, Archbishop Mark continues to strengthen the spiritual life of the Diocese and inspire countless faithful in their walk with Christ.

Born in New Albany, IN, on June 22, 1958, Archbishop Mark's journey to the Orthodox Faith reflects a life dedicated to the pursuit of Christ and service to His Holy Church. Following his reception into the Orthodox Church in 1989 and graduation from St. Vladimir's Theological Seminary, he faithfully served as a deacon, priest, and bishop before being elected to lead the Diocese of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania. Since his enthronement in 2014 and elevation to the rank of Archbishop in 2015, he has labored diligently to foster unity, strengthen parish life, support clergy and faithful, revitalize youth ministries, and expand the Church's witness throughout the Diocese.

Known for his deep love of the Holy Scriptures and his commitment to nurturing the next generation of Orthodox Christians, Archbishop Mark has devoted himself to ensuring that the faithful of every age remain firmly rooted in the life of Christ and His Church. His archpastoral vision has guided numerous initiatives throughout the Diocese, including the renewal and growth of youth and retreat ministries, the strengthening of diocesan communications and outreach, and the continued cultivation of vibrant parish communities united in faith, fellowship, and service to the Gospel.

On this joyous occasion, we prayerfully ask the Lord to grant His Eminence many years of health, strength, peace, and abundant blessings as he continues his ministry in the vineyard of Christ. May God preserve him for many blessed years!

EIS POLLA ETI DESPOTA!
