On behalf of His Eminence Archbishop Mark, the Clergy, Matushki and Faithful of the Diocese of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania, the Diocesan Media Office extends its warmest congratulations to Priest Vjeksolav JoviÄić, Rector of Holy Trinity Church in Stroudsburg, PA, on the occasion of his 8th anniversary of ordination to the Holy Priesthood.
Father Vjekoslav was ordained to the Holy Priesthood on Sunday, June 10, 2018, the feast of Synaxis of the Saints of North America, at Holy Trinity Church in Wilkes-Barre, PA, through the laying on of hands of His Eminence Archbishop Mark. Since his ordination, he has faithfully served the Diocese of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania in several parish assignments, offering his gifts in service to the Church and the faithful entrusted to his care. A graduate of St. Sava Seminary in Belgrade, Serbia, Father Vjekoslav continued his theological studies at St. Sava Serbian School of Theology in Libertyville, IL, where he received a Bachelor of Divinity degree in 2017. He subsequently attended St. Tikhon's Theological Seminary in South Canaan, PA, earning a Master of Divinity degree in 2020. In February 2025, he was assigned as Rector of Holy Trinity Church in Stroudsburg, PA.
Over the past eight years of priestly ministry, Father Vjekoslav has distinguished himself as a devoted and obedient servant of the Church, carrying out his pastoral responsibilities with humility, faithfulness, and a deep love for Christ and His people. He is especially known for his ability to connect with young people, dedicating considerable time and energy to mentoring youth, encouraging their participation in the life of the Church, and helping them grow in their Orthodox faith. Through his approachable nature, pastoral care, and commitment to building strong parish communities, he has become a respected pastor and positive influence among the faithful of the Diocese.
We, as a Diocese, pray that God will grant Father Vjekoslav, Popadija Dragana, and their family many years. Axios!
