On behalf of His Eminence Archbishop Mark, the Clergy, Matushki and Faithful of the Diocese of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania, the Diocesan Media Office extends its warmest congratulations to Archpriest Innocent Neal, Dean of the Wilkes-Barre Deanery and Rector of Holy Trinity Church in Wilkes-Barre, PA, on the occasion of his 10th anniversary of ordination to the Holy Priesthood.
Father Innocent was ordained to the Holy Priesthood on Thursday, June 9, 2016, the Feast of the Ascension of our Lord, at St. Tikhon's Monastery in South Canaan, PA, through the laying on of hands of His Eminence Archbishop Mark. A graduate of St. Tikhon's Theological Seminary in 2005, he was assigned as Rector of Holy Trinity Church in October 2018. He was appointed Dean of the Wilkes-Barre Deanery in June 2022.
Over the past decade, Father Innocent has distinguished himself as a devoted pastor, known for his genuine love for his parishioners, compassionate care for those entrusted to him, and steadfast commitment to the life of the Church. Through his thoughtful pastoral guidance, tireless service, and approachable spirit, he has fostered a vibrant parish community rooted in faith, fellowship, and the love of Christ. His ability to minister to people in all circumstances of life, offering encouragement, wisdom, and a listening ear, has made him a beloved pastor among the faithful.
We, as a Diocese, pray that God will grant Archpriest Innocent, Matushka Melanie, and their family many years. Axios!
