WILLIAMSPORT, PA [DOEPA]
On Sunday, May 10, 2026, the Fifth Sunday of Holy Pascha, the Sunday of the Samaritan Woman, the faithful of Elevation of the Holy Cross Church in Williamsport, PA, celebrated Mother’s Day as the parish offered special prayers in honor of mothers following the celebration of the Divine Liturgy.
At the conclusion of the service, Archpriest Seraphim Reynolds, Rector, intoned “Memory Eternal” for all departed mothers, grandmothers, and godmothers of the parish community, after which the faithful joyfully sang the Paschal hymn “Christ is Risen.” “Many Years” was then intoned and sung for all living mothers, grandmothers, and godmothers, asking the Lord to grant them health, peace, salvation, and many blessed years.
Following the services, a festive brunch was held in the Parish Hall, prepared by the men of the parish as an expression of gratitude and appreciation for the love, sacrifice, and faithful witness of the mothers within the parish community.
Glory to God for all things!
