BATH, PA [DOEPA COMMUNICATIONS]
On behalf of His Eminence Archbishop Mark, the Clergy, Matushki and Faithful of the Diocese of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania, the Diocesan Media Office extends its warmest congratulations to Archpriest Victor Gorodenchuk, Cathedral Dean and Dean of the Philadelphia Deanery, on the occasion of his 22nd anniversary of ordination to the Holy Priesthood.
Father Victor was ordained to the Holy Priesthood at Holy Assumption Church in Clifton, NJ, by the laying on of hands of the ever-memorable Archbishop Peter [L’Huillier] (+11/19/07). Following his ordination, he served for one year at Holy Apostles Church in Saddle Brook, NJ, before being assigned in July 2005 to the Diocesan Cathedral, St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Philadelphia, PA, where he has faithfully served ever since, guiding the cathedral community with pastoral care and dedication.
In addition to his parish ministry, Father Victor has made significant contributions to theological scholarship and education. He received his PhD in Liturgical Studies from The Catholic University of America in 2021 and continues to offer lectures on the Divine Liturgy at St. Tikhon’s Theological Seminary. He also serves as an administrator of the St. Tikhon’s Diaconal Formation Program, held in Philadelphia, helping to form future clergy for service in the Church.
Whether from the amvon or in the classroom, Father Victor has dedicated his life and ministry to the service of the Lord and His Holy Church, faithfully preaching the Gospel, offering pastoral care, and teaching liturgics with clarity and depth, forming future clergy and faithful while leading those entrusted to his care with diligence, wisdom, and love.
We as a Diocese pray that God will grant Archpriest Victor, Matushka Anastasia, and their family many years. Axios!
