On behalf of His Eminence Archbishop Mark, the Clergy, Matushki, and Faithful of the Diocese of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania, the Diocesan Media Office extends its warmest congratulations to Archpriest Stephen Vernak, Rector of Christ the Saviour Church in Harrisburg, PA, on the occasion of his 19th anniversary of ordination to the Holy Priesthood.
Father Stephen was ordained to the Holy Priesthood on Saturday, April 28, 2007, the commemoration of the Apostles Jason and Sosipater of the Seventy, the Virgin Kerkyra, and those with them, by the laying on of hands of His Grace Bishop Tikhon, now Metropolitan Tikhon, at Christ the Saviour Church in Paramus, NJ. Prior to this, he was ordained to the Holy Diaconate on Saturday, June 24, 2006, by the laying on of hands of His Beatitude Metropolitan Herman [Swaiko] (+9/6/22) at Christ the Saviour Church in Paramus, NJ.
A graduate of St. Tikhon’s Theological Seminary in 2007, he was assigned in June of that same year to Christ the Saviour Church in Harrisburg, PA, where he has faithfully served the parish community. He also serves as Assistant to the Dean of the Frackville Deanery, offering support in the pastoral and administrative life of the Diocese.
Father Stephen has dedicated his life to the service of Christ and His Holy Church, offering pastoral care, preaching the Gospel, and leading the faithful in worship with diligence and love.
We as a Diocese pray that God will grant Archpriest Stephen, Matushka Anna, and their family many years. Axios!
