From April 3–12, 2026, the parishes of the Diocese of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania celebrated Holy Week and the Feast of Feasts, the Resurrection of our Lord, Great and Holy Pascha, gathering in worship and prayer to commemorate the saving Passion, Death, and life-giving Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Throughout the Diocese, clergy and faithful participated in the sacred services of Holy Week, bearing witness to the unity of the Church and the ultimate proclamation of Christ’s victory over death.
On behalf of His Eminence Archbishop Mark, the Diocesan Media Office extends heartfelt Paschal greetings to the clergy, matushki, and faithful of the Diocese, prayerfully wishing all a continued joyful and blessed celebration of the radiant Feast of the Resurrection of our Lord. His Eminence sincerely thanks all who submitted photos for this edition of "Feastday in Focus".

Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death by death, and upon those in the tombs bestowing life!
Kontakion:
Thou didst descend into the tomb, O Immortal, Thou didst destroy the power of death. In victory didst Thou arise, O Christ God, proclaiming, “Rejoice!” to the Myrrhbearing Women, granting peace to Thine Apostles, and bestowing Resurrection on the fallen!
Hymn to the Mother of God (Instead of “It is truly meet…”):
The Angel cried to the Lady, full of grace: “Rejoice, O pure Virgin! Again, I say: Rejoice, thy Son is risen from His three days in the tomb! With Himself, He has raised all the dead.” Rejoice, O ye people!
Shine, shine, O new Jerusalem! The glory of the Lord has shone on thee. Exult now, and be glad, O Zion! Be radiant, O pure Theotokos, in the Resurrection of thy Son!
