BATH, PA [DOEPA COMMUNICATIONS]
On behalf of His Eminence Archbishop Mark, the Clergy, Matushki and Faithful of the Diocese of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania, the Diocesan Media Office extends its warmest congratulations to Archpriest Aleksey Paranyuk, Rector of St. Michael's Church in Mount Carmel, PA, on the occasion of his 14th anniversary of ordination to the Holy Priesthood.
Father Aleksey was ordained to the Holy Priesthood on Saturday, April 7, 2012, the Feast of the Annunciation (Old Calendar), by the laying on of hands of His Grace Bishop Jerome (ROCOR) at Our Lady of the Sign Cathedral in New York City. Prior to this, he was ordained to the Holy Diaconate on Sunday, February 19, 2012, the Sunday of the Last Judgment, at Our Lady of the Sign Cathedral.
A parishioner of St. Nicholas Cathedral in Manhattan, NY, Father Aleksey received a blessing in 2009 from His Grace Bishop Mercurius (Ivanov), then auxiliary bishop of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, to pursue theological education following the completion of his Bachelor’s degree at Baruch College. He subsequently enrolled as a long-distance student at Holy Trinity Seminary in Jordanville, NY, where he studied for two and a half years. He later completed his Master of Divinity at St. Vladimir’s Theological Seminary in Yonker, NY.
Following his ordination to the priesthood, Father Aleksey served as an assistant priest at St. Nicholas Cathedral in Manhattan for four years while continuing his theological studies. During this time, he also received pastoral training under the mentorship of Archpriest David Garretson at Ss. Peter and Paul Church in South River, NJ.
In 2016, Father Aleksey and his family were assigned to St. John the Baptist Church in Little Falls, NJ, where he served faithfully for seven years. In 2023, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and all Russia, he was received into the Orthodox Church in America and transferred to the Diocese of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania under the omophorion of His Eminence Archbishop Mark. He was subsequently appointed Rector of St. Michael Church in Mount Carmel, PA, where he continues his pastoral ministry.
Throughout his years of service, Father Aleksey has labored diligently in Christ’s Holy Church, offering devoted pastoral care, sound teaching, and reverent liturgical service to the faithful entrusted to him. His ministry reflects a deep commitment to the life of the Church and the proclamation of the Holy Gospel.
We pray that God will grant Archpriest Aleksey, Matushka Natallia, and their family many years. Axios!
