WILLIAMSPORT, PA [DOEPA]
On Sunday, March 15, 2026, the faithful of Elevation of the Holy Cross Church in Williamsport, PA, prayerfully observed the Third Sunday of Great Lent, the Sunday of the Veneration of the Cross, gathering for the celebration of the Divine Liturgy followed by a procession with the Cross.
Following the Divine Liturgy, a procession was held with the Cross, which was then placed in the center of the church for veneration. Following the dismissal, the faithful sang “Before Thy Cross…” and came forward to venerate the Cross.
After the service, a Lenten meal was prepared and served in the parish hall, where the faithful gathered for a time of fellowship and conversation. This provided an opportunity for parishioners and visitors to strengthen their bonds as a community while continuing their shared Lenten journey. The parish also held its Orthodoxy 101 class and Sunday School, offering instruction and discussion for both adults and youth as they grow in their understanding of the Orthodox faith.
