On Friday, October 31, 2025, Peter Weremedic fell asleep in the Lord.

Peter Weremedic, 90, of Frackville, PA, was a son of the late Paul and Anna Weremedic. Peter was a mailman for the United States Postal Service in Frackville.

He was a man of great faith and a devout parishioner of Holy Ascension Church in Frackville, PA.

Peter was a veteran, having served in the United States Marine Corps, a life member of the Frackville American Legion Post 398, and a member of the Goodwill Hose Co., Frackville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marie (Sagan) Weremedic; his brothers, Nicholas, Michael, and John Weremedic; and his sister, Mary Lombardi.

He is survived by his three sons: Michael (Roseanne) Weremedic, Frackville; Peter Weremedic, Frackville; and Archpriest James Weremedic, Rector of St. Mary’s Church in Coaldale, PA, and his wife, Matushka Lisa Weremedic. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Elizabeth (John) Wittig, Michael (Amanda) Weremedic, Subdeacon James Weremedic, and Victoria Weremedic; and his great-grandchildren: Madeline and Sophia Wittig, and Nicholas and Noah Weremedic; as well as many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing at the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Frackville, on Wednesday, November 5, from 6–8 PM, with a Panikhida beginning at 7 PM. An additional viewing and the funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 6, at Holy Ascension Church, from 9 AM until the time of service. Interment will follow in Holy Ascension Cemetery.

On behalf of His Eminence Archbishop Mark, the clergy, matushki, and faithful of the Diocese of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania, the Diocesan Media Office expresses its condolences and prayers to the entire extended Weremedic family on the loss of Peter.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Peter’s name to Holy Ascension Orthodox Church, 209 S. Lehigh Ave., Frackville, PA 17931.
