FRACKVILLE, PA [DOEPA]
On Wednesday, September 24, 2025, Archpriest Paul Ropitsky was honored at Holy Ascension Church in Frackville, PA, for his 35 years of devoted service to the parish and was recognized for the occasion of the 60th anniversary of his ordination to the holy priesthood.
Priest Kirill Zawatski, Rector, welcomed back former rector Archpriest Paul Ropitsky in a celebration of gratitude and love. Father Paul was remembered for his 35 years of faithful service to the parish, which he shepherded until his retirement in 2003. As a sign of appreciation, Father Kirill and the parish presented him with a jeweled pectoral cross from Ukraine.
In addition, on behalf of His Eminence Archbishop Mark of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania and the Holy Synod of the Orthodox Church in America, Archpriest Timothy Hojnicki, Vice-Chancellor of the Diocese of Eastern Pennsylvania, Dean of the Frackville Deanery, and Rector of Holy Apostles Church in Mechanicsburg, PA, presented Father Paul with a Synodal Gramota in recognition of his 60 years of priestly service. Many parishioners from Father Paul’s years of ministry returned to Holy Ascension Church for the joyous occasion and warmly welcomed their beloved former pastor. May God grant him many years! Axios!
