WILKES-BARRE, PA [OCA]
Holy Trinity Church in Wilkes-Barre, PA, a growing and community-focused parish, is seeking a “full-time” choir director to lead its singers in the responses for its liturgical services. “Full-time” translates into being present primarily for the Saturday evening and Sunday morning services of Great Vespers, Resurrectional Matins and Divine Liturgy. Support for various holy days throughout the year and the services of Great Lent are also expected. The proper candidate would also help grow and expand the choir through outreach to the existing community and youth group. The choir director would be expected to conduct regular choir practices. Supporting choir members can provide backup support for planned and unplanned absences. Interested candidates should be faithful, believing Orthodox Christians with a deep love of the services.
Requirements: Musical background in choral singing and directing with at least a basic knowledge of Orthodox liturgical services. Further training and support will be provided. Musical degree is helpful but not required. A monthly stipend will be provided, to be discussed with interested candidates.
