PHILADELPHIA, PA [DOEPA]
On Sunday, August 17, 2025, St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Philadelphia, PA, honored the completion of John Carpenter’s seminary internship and held its annual parish picnic.
After the Divine Liturgy, John was recognized for his service and dedication. As a sign of gratitude, he was presented with the icon of “Not-Made-By-Hands”, an icon depicting the face of Christ on a cloth that symbolizes the abiding presence of God in the flesh. This presentation served as both a tribute to his faithfulness and an expression of support as he continues his vocational journey.
Following the Liturgy, parishioners gathered for the much anticipated annual picnic. The event was filled with joy, fellowship, and good food, made possible by the hard work of those who organized, cooked, and cleaned. The Cathedral community gratefully acknowledges the dedication and commitment of everyone who contributed to its success.
Glory to God for all things!
