Visitation of the Hawaiian Iveron Icon to Holy Apostles Church

MECHANICSBURG, PA [DOEPA]

On Tuesday, October 29, 2024, With the blessing of His Eminence, Archbishop Mark, the Myrrh-Streaming Hawaiian Iveron Icon of the Mother of God visited Holy Apostles Orthodox Church in Mechanicsburg, PA.

The Miraculous Icon was greeted by the clergy and faithful. An Akathist service to the Mother of God was served by Archpriest Timothy Hojnicki, Vice-Chancellor of the Diocese of Eastern Pennsylvania, Dean of the Frackville Deanery and Rector of Holy Apostles Church, Archpriest Raymond Martin Browne, Chancellor of the Diocese of Eastern Pennsylvania, the Mitred Archpriest Nicholas Molodyko-Harris, Protopresbyter-Stavrophor Ilija Balach, Archpriest Leonid Schmidt, Archpriest John Edward, Priest Vjekoslav Jovičić, Priest Kirill Zawatski and Deacon Peter Staller. The choir was led under the direction of Mrs. Barbara Linnehan. Over 350 people were in attendance.

Following the Akathist, the faithful venerated the Myrrh-Streaming Icon and were anointed with holy myrrh from the icon.

Most Holy Theotokos, save us! Glory to God for all things!
