SOUTH CANAAN, PA [DOEPA]
On Thursday, July 3, 2025, campers and staff at St. Tikhon's Summer Camp continued to be active and participate in fun activities with much energy and joy.
The day began with Matins, which was served by Archpriest John Parker, Dean of St. Tikhon's Theological Seminary.
Workshops for all age groups continued throughout the day, centered on the theme of the Parable of the Sower and the call to become good soil that welcomes the Word of God. The Gray Shirts had a special session with Dr. David Ford, who offered deeper insights into the theme.
During the day, Archpriest Raymond Browne, Chancellor of the Diocese of Eastern Pennsylvania and Rector of St. Mark's Church in Wrightstown, PA, traveled to St. Tikhon's Monastery and visited with the campers a staff.
In addition to regular camp activities such as boating, swimming, iconography, visits to the bookstore, and dance, campers from various age groups also had the opportunity again to tour the Metropolitan Museum of the Orthodox Church in America, led by Priest Paul Witek, Rector of All Saints Church in Olyphant, PA.
Throughout the day, various age groups had nerf battles on the campus. Despite the weather, fun was still had among friends and staff.
In the evening, Daily Vespers was served by Priest Silouan Burns, Rector of St. Michael the Archangel Church in Wilmington, DE.
