SOUTH CANAAN, PA [DOEPA]
On Saturday, July 5, 2025, St. Tikhon's Summer Camp concluded its final day of camp with the celebration of the Divine Liturgy.
The Divine Liturgy was celebrated by His Eminence Archbishop Mark of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania. Serving with His Eminence was Archpriest John Parker, Dean of St. Tikhon's Theological Seminary, Archpriest Timothy Hojnicki, Vice-Chancellor of the Diocese of Eastern Pennsylvania, Dean of the Frackville Deanery, and Rector of Holy Apostles Church in Mechanicsburg, PA, Archpriests Joseph Toroney and Aleksey Paranyuk, Priests Vjeksolav JoviÄić, Silouan Burns, and Paul Witek. Also serving was Deacon James Macgruder with campers and staff as Altar Servers.
The camp choir was led under the direction of Priest John Black, Rector of St. Herman of Alaska Church in Shillington, PA.
Following the dismissal, icons painted by the campers and staff depicting Christ the Sower of the Seed and the newly glorified St. Olga of Kwethluk, Matushka of All Alaska, were blessed.
After the veneration of the Cross, a meal was shared by all clergy, campers, staff, and family members before everyone departed following a wonderful week of Summer Camp.
On behalf of His Eminence Archbishop Mark, the Diocesan Media Office extends heartfelt gratitude to all clergy who sacrificed their time to be with the youth, to the volunteers and counselors for their hard work and dedication throughout the week, to the campers for their love for Christ and their participation in this ministry, and to the donors and families who support the youth ministry of the Diocese of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania.
His Eminence would also like to extend gratitude especially to Daniel Peck for his many labors as Camp Director and to Elisabeth Parsells for her hard and dedicated work with the camp media. May God grant them many years!
