SOUTH CANAAN, PA [DOEPA]
On Friday, July 4, 2025, St. Tikhon's Summer Camp had its final full day of camp and celebrated the civil holiday of the Fourth of July.
The day began with Matins which was served by Archpriest Timothy Hojnicki, Vice-Chancellor of the Diocese of Eastern Pennsylvania, Dean of the Frackville Deanery, and Rector of Holy Apostles Church in Mechanicsburg, PA.
Workshops for all age groups continued in the morning, centered on the theme of the Parable of the Sower and the call to become good soil that welcomes the Word of God. During the day preparation for cleaning up the camp began.
Regular camp activities also took place during the morning, offering fun, fellowship, and opportunities for personal growth. Behind the scenes, staff and older campers began preparations for the end-of-camp clean-up.
In the evening, Daily Vespers was served by Father Timothy. Following the service, campers and staff were given the opportunity to participate in the sacrament of Holy Confession, with several priests available to hear confessions and offer spiritual counsel.
The day concluded with a spectacular fireworks show, hosted by the Monastic Brotherhood of St. Tikhon's Monastery. With more than 350 people in attendance, the night sky lit up in celebration of our nation's Independence.
Glory to God for all things!
