BETHLEHEM, PA [DOEPA]

From April 13-14, 2025, His Eminence Archbishop Mark of Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania presided over the services of Holy Monday at St. Nicholas Church in Bethlehem, PA.

On Sunday evening, April 13, upon arrival to the temple, following his archpastoral visit to St. Herman of Alaska Church in Glen Mills, PA, His Eminence was greeted by Archpriest Nikolai Breckenridge, Rector, and several members of the parish.

Bridegroom Matins was served by Father Nikolai. Archbishop Mark presided from the throne.

Afterwards, Archbishop Mark spent time with Father Nikolai, discussing pastoral matters and various topics including the parish community.

On Monday morning, April 14, His Eminence presided over the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts. Serving with him were Father Nikolai, Mitred Archpriest James Mason, and Archpriest Michael Kon, Cleric of the Bulgarian Diocese of the USA. The responses were sung by the choir led under the direction of Reader Nicholas Lezinsky.

During the Presanctified Liturgy, many of the faithful received the Holy Mysteries.

Following the dismissal, Archbishop Mark offered an archpastoral word. He expressed joy to be with the faithful of St. Nicholas Church. He encouraged the faithful to remain committed in their spiritual efforts and to continue drawing closer to Christ with sincere hearts as they prepare for His Holy Pascha.
