St. Michael’s has very special Nativity Feast Celebration - 12/25/15
The Feast of Christmas at St. Michael’s Orthodox Church in Jermyn, was a very memorable one. Fr. John together with Susan Schlasta (Phd. Candidate) in Social work organized an outreach to the poor for the 4th year in a row. This year a total of $1,700.00 was collected in the Parish, to help 20 families and children in our area with Christmas presents, and who normally wouldn’t receive any gifts. The Divine Liturgy of Christmas was filled to capacity and the Choir under the direction of Oleg Beljaeff was exceptional. The Sunday after Christmas, Fr. John and Matushka Kathy hosted an open house at the rectory. Traditional Christmas carols were sung and many enjoyed the many delicacies prepared by Matushka Kathy.
