Renowned former Evangelical leader and current director of the Antiochian Orthodox Archdiocese Department of Missions and Evangelism, Fr. Peter Gillquist, will be speaking at several parishes throughout our Diocese. The subject of his lectures will be “Finding the Church of the New Testament.”

Fr. Peter attended Wheaton College Graduate School and Dallas Theological Seminary, has worked as a regional director for Campus Crusade for Christ, a senior editor for Thomas Nelson Publishing, and since becoming an Orthodox Christian in 1987 has served as chairman of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese Department of Missions and Evangelism. He has written numerous books and articles, including: Love is Now, The Physical Side of Being Spiritual, and  Becoming Orthodox.  He was a leader of and major contributor to The Orthodox Study Bible Project.

The following is the schedule for Fr. Peter’s lectures:

Friday, May 1st at 7pm -- Christ the Saviour Orthodox Church (5501 Old Locust Lane, Harrisburg, PA). This event will be preceded by a Vespers service at 6pm. All area Orthodox and their guests are invited to attend. Call Fr. Stephen Vernak at 717-652-1825 with inquiries.

Saturday, May 2nd  at 7 pm – Holy Annunciation Church (1228 2nd Avenue, Berwick, PA). Vespers will begin at 5 pm and the lecture is scheduled for 7 pm.

Sunday, May 3rd at 6 pm – St Michael’s Orthodox Church (308 Walnut Street, Jermyn, PA). A reception with questions and answers period will follow the lecture. In addition, Fr. Peter will concelebrate the Divine Liturgy at St Michael’s on Sunday morning.

Monday, May 4th at 7 pm – St Tikhon’s Orthodox Seminary (South Canaan, PA). Fr. Peter will offer a Public Lecture on Mission and Evangelism. A question-and-answer discussion period discussion period will follow.
